"Sir, if you wish to have a just notion of the magnitude of this city, you must not be satisfied with seeing its great streets and squares, but must survey the innumerable little lanes and courts. It is not in the showy evolutions of buildings, but in the multiplicity of human habitations which are crowded together, that the wonderful immensity of London consists." - Samuel Johnson (In Boswell's Life)

A place to discuss the history, culture and aesthetic of Greater London.
Somewhere to post pictures of the city and the people therein.
Somewhere to share suggested reading lists and articles.
To spread the word about discounts on tourist attractions we all should have seen already but likely haven't quite got round to it yet. To arrange group outings to visit these attractions, or just to take a walk down an alley we haven't done before.
To really sit back and appreciate the metropolis we're all so unreasonably fond of.
And then head down the pub and discuss it loudly over a pint of Pride.
